What is the difference between a closure and a frontal?

The frontals we carry are 13×4 inches. They offer more diverse styling choices because they cover from ear to ear. Frontals require a higher maintenance than closures. Maintenance includes professional styling, cleaning and even replacement due to normal shedding over time. If you area first time wig wearer or are unsure about self installing your own frontal we suggest a lace closure.

Closures come in various sizes and cover partial of ones head. The sizes we carry are 4×4, 5×5 and 6×6 lace closures. 5×5 closures are my preference and I personally prefer closures over frontals. Styling options are not as diverse, but closures require much less maintenance than frontals. Closures can be shifted from middle to a side part in the case of wearing a wig and can be worn with baby hair as well. For first time wig wearers a closure is ideal, it requires minimal up keep and can “throw on and go.”

What is virgin hair?

Virgin Hair is steam processed to give a more defined and altered look to curly hair textures. Though some companies use chemicals to alter the shine, color, and shape of hair, Queen JaT Customs ONLY uses steam for definition. Our virgin hair will come in natural hair color and natural medium luster. Absolutely no color and chemicals are used during process.

What is the normal turnaround time for orders?

All custom orders are processed and shipped within 21 business days. This timeframe can vary depending on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, shipping delays, international and national holidays and COVID-19.

How can I properly maintain my natural hair under my unit?

Your unit will only lay as flat as your natural hair is underneath. Depending on your natural hair state it is suggested to treat your natural hair and a braid down every 3-8 weeks. The smaller the braids, the better. Big, chunky braids are quick and easy, but your unit will not lie flawlessly and flat. It may also cause your closure lace to stretch, which can lead to shedding. Straight back braids are recommended for lace frontal applications and/ or closure units. CLEAN, FLAT AND STRAIGHT TO THE BACK WILL KEEP YOUR CROWN IN TACT!

Can I straighten my hair?

Yes. All of our textures can be styled using heat. It is recommended to wear deep curly in its natural state. Body wave or loose deep is suggested for those looking for a natural wave that can easily be straightened and curled with keeping curl retention.

How is my crown secured?

AllCustom units will come with an elastic band and an attached flexible wig comb to secure the bottom of your unit. Extra security can be added at request.
